11/13/1 List: Beat Drinks


Barry Benintende's 10 drinks with named after the Beat Generation.

"The Kerouac"
Two shots of Vodka, one shot grapefruit juice,
shaken and served with a lime wedge.

"A.Ginsburg"
Equal parts red wine and prune juice.
Served over ice.

"The Happy Cassady"
3 shots bourbon
a dash of lime juice
a dash of 7 Up

"The Burroughs"
2 shots of espresso
3 shots of Irish whiskey
served hot.

"The Subterranean"
1 cup of strawberries
1 cup of whipping cream
6 shots tequila
4 shots dark rum

"The Karlo Marx"
1/4 oz Light rum
1/4 oz Dark rum
1/2 oz Amaretto
1/2 oz Peach schnapps
2 oz Orange juice
1 splash 7 Up
Mix in a large drinking glass, serve over ice.

"The Desolation Angel"
1 shot Jack Daniels
2 shots Vodka
6 shots Dr. Pepper
1 dash Sugar
1 piece Cherry

"The Howler"
2 cups Vodka
4 cups Pineapple juice
4 cups Cranberry juice
64 oz Ginger ale
2 cups Sugar
Ice

"The Beat"
3 parts Becherovka
3 parts Rum
1 part Blue Curacao
5 parts Orange juice
Tonic water
Shake. Garnish with an orange twist and a cherry.

"The Mexico City Blues"
6 oz Red wine
1 oz Coca-Cola
4 oz Tequila
1 oz Blue Curacao
3 oz Orange juice
3 tblsp Banana, chopped
1 cup Raisins
6 oz Champagne (Dom Perignon)
1/2 tsp Hot red pepper flakes
    Heat vine, add raisins and boiled. Mix Coca-Cola, tequila, orange juice,
Blue Curacao and add to boiled vine with raisins.
Toss bananas with hot red pepper flakes. Pour Don Perignon over bananas. Mix
everything together and store in a glass jar.
Put in a fridge for 8 hours. Served chilled with fresh cherries.
